The full strike of this coin is evident with sharp-detail on the devices including well-defined eagle’s chest feathers. A light gold undertone graces the reeded edges of this specimen adding a beautiful accent to its focal areas. The fields are smooth and the surfaces are absolutely marvelous with softly frosted devices and mirror-like fields all with great brilliance and original mint luster. Note that this specimen has been given a "Bermuda" pedigree rating it amongst the high-end Morgans of its mintage with MS65 grade, nearly an MS66.While the 1891 Morgan Dollar mintage of almost 8.7 million pieces may seem large at first glance, truth is that only a very small fraction of that original mintage has survived in high grades MS65 and above. PCGS for example has certified only 91 Silver Dollars from this mintage as GEM MS65 and only 3 with a higher grade (2 at MS66; 1 at MS67).
