Description
SquareTrade © AP6.0 fancycashcom Store LOW FANCY MATCHING SERIAL $2 1976 #H00000004A-2003 H4* About the Item It is our pleasure for Niche Numismatics--The Market Maker in Low, Fancy and Matched Serials and other Rare Coin and Currency Niche Items--to present to you an exceedingly rare and special item for auction:   THE ONLY SINGLE DIGIT $2 STAR-NON STAR MATCHED PAIR IN EXISTENCE1976 $2 #H00000004A & 2003 #H00000004*   Here's one to astonish you. It took me years to put it together and it is one of the prides of my collection, but its time to put it out there. I was very lucky to acquire either note. Not just an exact serial match, which is challenging enough, but an exact district match as well. I've only managed to put together one other--$2 #H36A/H36*. I'm the only one who has been able to do this, period. I'll be putting that one up soon as well, so let me know if it interests you. Of course it will be much less expensive than this single digit pair, for obvious reasons.   Notes from three $2 FRN 1-100 packs have surfaced. Those are the the 1976 H-A pack, which was broken up mostly intact besides the #1 and #2 which were not there. Then just 2-3 years back a few notes from the 1976 A-A pack surfaced--#86-100 to be exact. I happen to own most of those, except for a couple I sold off or didn't go after. Last there is just one note, #F00000050A, that has surfaced from the 1995 series $2s. I own that one as well and it is part of a multi-denominational set I have put together of $1-$100 post-1988 first pack notes that should not have been released into public hands. I keep changing that set, replacing notes, sometimes upgrading and sometime selling off pieces, but some day I will offer it.   Anyway, the 1976 H4A note is a beautiful GEM CU. Should grade 65 or better. As you may be aware, the Federal Reserve's Bank official policy is to pull the first 3 packs (300 notes) of the first, "A" suffix, printing run. You won't see its like again.   The 2003 H4* note grades GEM CU as well. It is a beautiful note, fresh from the 2003 $2 Star Premium Set, which is the ONLY reason why any collectors have access to these ultra rare $2 stars to begin with.   Well that's that. This pair is priced fairly at just below $10,000. The H4A is the only $2 #4 Non-Star known and is a $5000+ note. I paid only slightly less than that for it when I won it at public auction over 3 years back. $2 #4 Stars have sold for $5000 and I think you will see those prices keep going up. With the way fancy serials continue to climb in value, both notes should appreciate substantially. I am sure you will be happy with these beauties, especially at this very reasonable price. But as with many of my auctions, should you feel my pricing is too high, you are free to make an offer, should you disagree. You never know what I will accept on any given day, depending on my cash flow needs. You might just get lucky. You do run the risk of the note being sold to someone who is happy to acquire it at the fair asking price, while I consider it though, or to a higher offer should yours be low and unrealistic. Anyway, steal them if if you can!   Please look at our other auctions. Many low serial single and double digit FRNs.
