Description
6RegentsPark store   1979 KRUGERRAND 1 OZ One Ounce Gold Coin BULLION       The winner of this auction will own a one ounce (1 oz.) 1979 Krugerrand gold coin. This Krugerrand, purchased by my parents, has been in a bank box for years. I believe it to be uncirculated, but cannot state that for a fact. All of the details are sharp and crisp, but it does not have what I would call a super luster mirror. It is, however, a beautiful coin and, of course, highly valued for its gold content. The Krugerrand in the photograph is the one you will receive and is the last one I have for auction. First minted in 1967 in order to help market South African gold, the Krugerrand was the first bullion coin to be tenderable at market value of its face gold content and was the first gold coin to contain precisely one ounce of fine gold. The coin is named for Paul Kruger, seen on the coin's obverse, who was the fifth and last president of the old South Africa Republic. The reverse depicts a springbok antelope, one of South Africa's national symbols.  Krugerrands are minted from gold alloy that is 91.67 percent pure (22 karats). The actual weight of a one ounce coin is 1.0909 troy ounces (33.93 g), providing one troy ounce of pure gold. Thanks for your interest in my auction and good luck!NOTE: At this time, I do not ship internationally.  Payment is due within 7 days after an auction ends. I accept PayPal, money orders and cashier's checks. Please e-mail me if you plan to send a money order or cashier's check.
