Description
You are purchasing an amazing collection of almost 50 years of US Mint issued mint sets. You will receive every mint set issued from 1960-2006, but here is a complete run down of what you will receive, as well as an explanation of what a mint set really is…..     So what exactly is a mint Set? A mint set is a set of pristine uncirculated coins released each year by a combination of the Denver and Philadelphia mints. Each mint releases their own "set" of uncirculated coins, meaning the complete mint set has two copies of every coin. These coins are minted in the same format as the money we use everyday; however, what sets them apart are there sealed uncirculated condition. These pristine conditioned coins are highly collectible.        1960 - 1963  These sets include both Philadelphia and Denver mint sets in OGP (Original Government Packaging). Each plastic sleeve comes with the complete coin set, and a plastic mint medallion indicating either the Denver or Philadelphia mint. All coins in this era were minted in 90% pure silver. Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, and Franklin Half all included.   1964 Introduction of Kennedy half dollar, and the only non proof 90% silver Kennedy Half. Includes both P & D sets     1965-1967 Special mint sets were released during these years instead of regular mint or proof sets. 1965 comes in a white envelope, while 1966-67 were issued in special acrylic holders. These were the only mint sets ever to be issued in acrylic holders rather than soft plastic sleeves. Although normally not included in mint set runs, all will be included in this collection.   1968 This set was released with one coin missing, and one coin added. No Philadelphia Kennedy half was included, however a special San Francisco minted Lincoln penny was added in its place.   1969 Back to the original P & D format, this set included all 5 coins from both the P&D mints.   1970 As if they mint was toying with us, they again pulled a switch and replaced the P Kennedy Half with an S minted penny.   1971 - 1972 These sets include both a P Kennedy Half and the S minted Lincoln Penny   1973 - 1974 Not only do these sets have the additional S minted Lincoln Penny, but for the first time ever the Dwight Eisenhower Dollar was included in both P&D format.   1975 – 1976 These mint sets highlight the bicentennial of the United States with special reverses on the Quarter, Half, and Dollar coins. No S minted coins were included these years.     1977 – 1978 Include all P & D minted coins during these years   1979 The Eisenhower Dollar was replaced by the Susan B. Anthony Dollar, and all P&D coins are included in this set.   1980 – 1981 In addition to all P&D mint coins, S minted Susan B. Anthony dollars were included in each Philadelphia set during these years.   1982-1983 No mint sets were issued during these years, nor was a special mint set. Unfortunately because of this, there will be no coins from these two years included in this collection. However, I do have proof sets from both years available in my store at all times.   1984 - 1995 Instead of confusing collectors with random S minted coins, the mint began issuing special penny like medallions starting in 1984. Both sets are distinguished with there own P and D medallions.   **Special Note             The 1987 mint set was the only source for non proof Kennedy Half Dollars. None were issued into circulation during that year.     1996 This set is valuable for one coin, and one coin only. As an addition to the rest of the mint set a single W minted (West Point mint) Roosevelt Dime was included. This dime was issued to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Roosevelt Dime itself. No coin before, and none sense minted at West Point has been included in ANY mint set.   1997- 1998 Back to the same format started in 1984   1999 STATE QUARTERS!!!! This highly valuable set marked the introduction of the 50 state quarter program. Because of the amount of coins included in each set, both the Denver and Philadelphia mint had to issue their own envelope full of coins. The P & D Medallions also made their final appearance in this set   2000-2006 The State quarter program continues on in these sets. What makes them different than the 1999 set is the addition of the Sacagawea Golden Dollar.   ****Special Notes….   1)      Starting in 2003, the Sacagawea Golden Dollar was no longer circulated, meaning the only non proof coins were found in these mint sets. 2)      The 2004 Mint set is the most valuable of all mint sets. I am not quite sure why, but it probably has to do with the population size of the states included in the quarter program. 3)      These sets may come still sealed in the original mailing box the mint used to ship these out. I cannot promise that premium, but I indeed have some, and it is very possible you could receive one. 4)      Starting in 2005, all mint set coins were minted in a special “satin finish” dye. This was done to distinguish them from regularly circulated coins.   Photo Please be aware that the photo is merely a stock photo of all mint sets included in this collection. The sets seen WILL NOT be the one's you will be receiving, however you will be receiving nearly identical sets. If you look in the top right hand corner of the photo, you will notice the mint shipping packaging for the 2006 set. As stated above, it is very possible for you to receive sets in packaging just like that.   Condition Most of these sets will be pristine as all are in their OGP. There may be a rare exception with the older sets, however the worst I have seen is natural toning, which some actually view as a premium rather than a defect. No coins I have seen have been damaged, however I have not personally checked all pacakges.      S&H Shipping for this collection will be 29.99 domestically in the United States, 49.99 to Canada, and 59.99 Worldwide. I accept paypal, Cashiers Checks, Money Orders, and of course personal checks (held until clearing).   A tracking number will be given the same day the item goes out. Shipping price includes Delivery Confirmation, and $1000 of insurance. Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
