The Jefferson Nickels have long been overlooked and never enjoyed the popularity of the pennies, or the larger coins. Jefferson Nickels have always been the same weight. During World War II, because of the nickel shortage, the nickel was made with a silver alloy. The mint mark, including the "P" mint, was inserted over the Monticello Dome on the back of the coin. Jefferson Nickels are still available by the rolls, but like all rolls, are getting more difficult to find all the time. I only sell Original "unpicked" rolls, that are guaranteed to please.
