Description
Description Lists for $3250 in the PCGS price guide, and as we all know, Lincolns have consistently gone up over the past 5+ years, proving to be perhaps one of the best investments one could make. And only God knows will happen come 2009 when the new design comes out and the baby boomers fresh into retirement decide to rekindle an old childhood flame of collecting pennies but now with a very nice cushion to work with, not to mention a desire for alternate investment strategies with the current financial markets. 1915-S is one of several S mint Lincolns that is seldom seen with any original red remaining. How many actually show up on the market? 1915-S ranks up there with 1923-S in my book for the top two toughest Lincoln Cents to find in RB or RD. This coin not only accomplishes that feat, but goes beyond that with razor sharp detail in Lincoln's hair and face. You can see every little air on his head and beard, even the neck. It is certainly one to brag about. The color is a very warm orange with a natural dusting of toning, making it about 70% red, give or take 10% for personal opinion and what type of light it's viewed in. Under a proper light it looks nearly full red! If you'd like larger pictures, they are available on my website, which is the same handle as my eBay name. Lincoln Cents are HOT! What an exciting time this is for collectors. All coins guaranteed authentic. Please completely read Terms and Conditions prior to bidding. eBay rules prohibit me from sharing my new website's address with you, but you are free to take a guess. A note on photographing copper coins... Photographing copper coins can be tricky, since the alloy can produce so many different tones from coin to coin. Viewing them can be quite a challenge too, since certain details or actual color can often be a mystery. I try to remove that guesswork. Unlike many other coin auctions you may see on eBay, I make every effort to produce crisp photographs with accurate color, details, and imperfections that are true to the coin, and I never hide anything with soft focus, deceptive lighting, small pictures, or other tricks which lead you to believe the coin may be nicer than it actually is. In fact, my pictures usually show such small imperfections not distracting to the naked eye, but which appear more significant in the enlarged photos. Take your time and look a each photo. They provide views from different angles, which is very important and gives you a much better idea of the coin's details than a single photo would. Good Luck bidding, and enjoy the new addition to your collection! view my other auctions below: visit my entire auction showcase Terms and Conditions Return Policy: A return option is critical to catalog, phone, or internet purchases. Pictures and description are merely a guide; you need to see the coin itself to make a final decision. I offer a 7 day return policy, meaning once the coin arrives you have 7 days to postmark the return package, as long as the holder is never opened. (If no insurance tracking is purchased, it's 10 days from my postmark to your postmark.) If the holder is ever opened, the coin is considered sold and may not be returned. Always make sure sellers of coins on eBay offer a return policy! Authenticity Guaranteed: I guarantee that each coin I sell is an authentic issue of the US Mint. Buying Raw Coins: There are some beautiful raw coins out there for collectors to enjoy. Some people like them just like that, while others have interest in getting raw coins certified. If you are looking to buy raw coins for the purpose of having them certified, please be aware of the risk involved. In my experience only a small percentage of people try this, but I have heard back from buyers with both good news stories and bad news stories involving certification. Please note that if this coin is removed from its holder and sent away for certification, it cannot be returned for a refund. Grading is subjective, and there is a chance you may not get the results you are looking for from grading services. Although I want people to be happy with their purchases, the return policy does not cover certification attempts. Further, I will add that many old coins have been restored at one time or another. I accept this reality, and collect and sell raw coins knowing this. If you require some sort of guarantee of orginial color, etc., you should buy coins already certified by companies that offer such guarantees. I won’t trick you into buying cleaned coins. I am fed up with the number of sellers on eBay and at coin shows who refuse to mention when coins are cleaned. I think they bring down those of us who strive to be honest. If I see surface damage such as hairline scratches from cleaning, I then consider the coin cleaned and clearly state so in the description. If hairlines are not evident, wear is not evident, the original mint luster is there, and the coin’s color looks natural, I consider the coin to have no damage and in turn personally grade the coin to be in mint state, regardless of it’s history, known or unknown. I don’t go as far as all of the finicky color issues. If that’s something that really matters to you, just buy them certified by the big boys. As a side note on the topic of coloring, I am convinced that there are actually copper coins out there restored to full red that everyone thinks are original, including the two most respectable grading services who in turn certify them. This really throws a wrench into the matter, because once a coin is in a slab from one of those two companies, people assume its color is completely original. Actually, I believe one of those two even has their own professional cleaning service that may possibly enable a previously rejected coin to be restored and then slabbed as original, without any mention on the holder that anything was ever done. I bet that gets you thinking! Those are my grading standards, with which you may agree or disagree, and you should bid or cease to bid accordingly. Although I assume this is not news to the seasoned collector, I mention all of this to hopefully shed light on the topic to anyone new to the hobby. I think these grading standards are shared by many sellers but rarely mentioned, and I hope speaking of this often hushed topic will be appreciated, and not scare anyone away. I strive to sell the nicest looking Lincoln Cents around while maintaining excellent feedback standings. Nearly half of my feedback is from repeat customers. I am so proud that this many satisfied people have come back for more! If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please email me prior to bidding. Good Luck and Happy Bidding! Shipping & Payment Nothing bugs me more than when people overcharge for shipping and "handling." I only charge $1.30 for shipping, no matter how many auctions you win (the real cost of postage and materials), but I require insurance for Paypal payments over $100.00 If paying by check or money order, you have the option to waive insurance and pay only $1.30 for shipping. This is not an attempt to manipulate buyers into paying a certain way; it's only due to Paypal's policy to take from the seller and give to the buyer if a package is lost in the mail. Hardly any sellers know about this until they get robbed. I think it's horrible. You can trust that I will never charge more for shipping than the actual cost. Here is the amount to add for insurance, based on your combined total of all auctions won: Insurance Chart (Insurance is required for Paypal payments over $100; it is optional for all other payments.) Based on actual cost - no "handling" fees or overcharging $1.70 for packages valued up to $50.00 $2.15 for packages valued up to $99.99 $2.60 for packages valued up to $199.99 $4.60 for packages valued up to $299.99 $5.55 for packages valued up to $399.99 $6.50 for packages valued up to $499.99 $7.45 for packages valued up to $599.99 $9.35 for packages valued up to $799.99 $10.30 for packages valued up to $899.99 $11.25 for packages valued up to $999.99 $12.20 for packages valued up to $1099.99 $13.15 for packages valued up to $1199.99 $14.00 flat fee for anything over $1200.00 For PayPal payments under $100.00, you have the option to waive insurance & pay just $1.30 shipping. For check or M.O. payments, you may waive insurance for any amount. PayPal, check, or money order are all gladly accepted. A confirmed address is required for PayPal payments. Personal checks usually receive shipment within 3 to 5 business days, but in certain rare cases may take up to 14 business days. This is based on how long it takes for your bank to verify clearance to me. International bidders: I can ship internationally for the exact cost of shipping and insurance, if insurance is available. Some payment limitations may exist for international bidders, so feel to email me with questions.
