Shows Rabbi Adolph Jellinek, who was the chief Rabbi of Vienna, Austria until his death in 1893, which is the year this medal was issued, in commemoration of him. Shown in the last photos is from the example in the Jewish Museum of Vienna, which is in bronze and is described as such.This is the largest, most handsome silver Rabbinical medal I have ever seen. The obverse cannot even lay flat on my computer scanner, as the head and hat is cast in extreme high relief, making the portrait appear “3-D”. The condition is stunning as well, notice the details retained in the hair and garment.
